7 year old boy dwells in Aqua Art, giving up on ‘screen time’

Like most kids of his age, 7 year old Aslan used to be engrossed in gaming and cartoons, until he got introduced to the world of aqua art. Knowing he is a curious kid, his father wanted to inculcate a sense of responsibility towards  nature in the boy and introduced Aslan to Aquascaping, the hobby of aesthetically building and maintaining an aquarium. Learning from Mayur Dev, a renowned aqua artist, he could connect nature, making him an environmentally conscious child in the process.

Aqua-scaping is one such art form which not only explains nature and natural habitats, but also teaches a lot of aspects of science, taught during school and college. Aqau-scaping develops cognitive skills in children and makes learning science an easier process while cultivating a love towards nature and promoting artistic traits in them.

Aslan built a foot long aquarium, learning about the soil to be used, water and its behaviour, the bacteria, carbon dioxide and oxygen while doing so and has since been maintaining; cleaning the sand and water and timely feeding his fish; that consumes most of his time today.

Mayur Dev, an aqua artist, naturalist, a science fanatic and an educator has been educating lakhs of Indians through his Youtube Channel- Mayur Dev- Aquascaper about cultivating this hobby and the science behind it and also building life size landscapes at homes of nature lovers.
